Maureen Soens

Years of experience and expertise have kept artist, author and patented product developer, Maureen Soens, on the leading edge of decorative paint design. Having studied with renowned experts in the art of decorative finishes from all over the world, her skills and talents are utilized to create realistic and fantasy finishes. She has extensive background in residential and commercial work including healthcare facilities, offices, banks, retail stores and churches.

Maureen has designed and conducted continuing projects at 16th century Naworth Castle in Brampton, England, where she leads a group of American artisans in decorating this ancient gem for the Honorable Philip Howard and family.

She is a keynote speaker in the field of decorative painting for national organizations in the arts of preservation and contemporary painting and has authored a book for the “Do it Yourself” consumer on Venetian Plaster techniques, “Italian Plaster Techniques”. Her work has been published in magazines, books, and been featured on television in both the United States and Great Britain.

Maureen continues to work closely with the painting industry in developing new products and studying the latest in color trends and faux paint applications.

Jane Gauss

Jane Gauss is a nationally recognized educator, designer, author and business owner. She began her pursuit of stenciling and home décor in the early 1980’s when she became one of Adele Bishop’s Master Stencilers, teaching national seminars throughout the country. Now, nearly 30 years later, Jane continues to reach thousands of people through her books, training videos, television appearances and international organizations.

Here are some of Jane’s accomplishments through the years:

1. Founding board member for Stencil Artisans League and Stencilers and Decorative Artists League
2. Founding member Stencilers and Decorative Artists Guild
3. Product development for major craft and home décor companies:
   • Stencil Décor multi part stencils, dry brush paints, Decorator Blocks and glazes, Stencil gels, Stamp Décor,
   • Holds two patents on colorized laser stencils and PaperIllusion™ torn paper.
   • Decorative plaster formulation for walls and dimensional stenciling
4. Past owner and president of Stenciler’s Emporium and Western Reserve Stenciling distributorships
5. Published 13 stenciling and home décor books, including Stenciling Techniques for Watson-Guptil
6. QVC appearances with stenciling and home décor products for 10 years
7. Educational cable TV appearances on Paint-Paint-Paint and For Your Home
8. 1997 – Awarded Craft & Needlework Age Designer of the Year

Jane continues to teach, lecture and develop new products that are on the cutting edge of the home decorating industry.
